Hill Foundation
The Leavenworth Ski Hill Foundation was founded in 2002 by a group of dedicated Wenatchee and Leavenworth residents to “develop, sustain, and expand Leavenworth’s ski heritage.” Established in response to a shared commitment to preserving local winter sports traditions, the Foundation was specifically created to serve a fundraising role for the Leavenworth Ski Hill complex.
Through its efforts, the Foundation helps support the ongoing operations, improvements, and long-term viability of the Ski Hill, while also providing essential financial support to the Leavenworth Winter Sports Club and its programs for youth and community members.
The Leavenworth Ski Hill Heritage Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization based in Leavenworth Washington. The Foundation is managed by a volunteer board that receives no compensation for their work supporting the Foundation’s mission and vision. Therefore 100% of directed donations are passed onto the intended recipient or purpose. The Foundation may use unrestricted and non-directed donations to cover minimal administrative costs. The Foundation is registered with the Internal Revenue Service and the Washington Secretary of State as the Leavenworth Ski Hill Heritage Foundation as a non-profit organization. History of Ski Hill Lodge
The Leavenworth Ski Hill opened in 1930, becoming an early centerpiece of winter recreation in the Upper Wenatchee Valley. In 1936, the historic Ski Hill Lodge was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps, reflecting the rustic architectural style and craftsmanship of that era. Recognized for its historical and cultural significance, the Lodge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Since its opening, the Leavenworth Winter Sports Club has continuously operated the Lodge under a permit with the United States Forest Service, ensuring its ongoing stewardship and public use.
Over the decades, the Lodge has evolved into a year-round gathering place for the community, hosting recreational activities, events, and celebrations for residents and visitors alike. Ongoing improvements to the Lodge and the surrounding Ski Hill area continue to preserve its historic character while expanding its functionality, enhancing its role as a valued community asset and an important link to Leavenworth’s outdoor and cultural heritage.

It is Our Mission to develop, sustain and expand Leavenworth’s Ski Heritage. This includes support of youth and life-long skiing, outdoor education programs, and other programs that enhance Leavenworth as a recreational destination and envisions Leavenworth as an internationally known ski community that celebrates and promotes its heritage through year-round outdoor activities and educational opportunities.
Our vision is to cultivate Leavenworth Ski Hill as a vibrant, year-round hub for outdoor recreation, community connection, and cultural heritage. Building on its rich history, we seek to inspire a deep appreciation for the Ski Hill’s legacy while expanding its role beyond winter sports to include diverse recreational opportunities in all seasons. By fostering both youth and adult programs, welcoming gathering spaces, and responsible stewardship of the land, we aim to ensure the Ski Hill remains an active, accessible, and beloved community resource—one that brings people together, supports healthy outdoor lifestyles, and continues to serve future generations.

The Leavenworth Ski Hill Foundation's primary mission is to support the Leavenworth Winter Sports Club by serving as a fiscal sponsor for various grant opportunities and by seeking donations to support the Foundation’s and the Winter Sports Club’s missions.

The Leavenworth Winter Sports Club provides winter recreation opportunities for residents of the area and visitors from across the state, country and globe.

The Club’s alpine and Nordic youth programs provide winter recreation opportunities for area youth through their high school years, creating lifelong friendships and winter recreationists.

The Club operates the historic Ski Hill Lodge throughout the year as a gathering place for the community with weekly music nights throughout the summer and other weekly events the remainder of the year.
