Leavenworth
Pavilion + Ice Rink
The Leavenworth Pavilion & Ice Rink will be a “best-in-class” facility nestled in the heart of downtown Leavenworth, Washington. The Pavilion will serve the Upper Wenatchee Valley communities of Leavenworth, Peshastin, Plain, Lake Wenatchee, Dryden, and Cashmere, as well as our 3.0 million annual visitors.
This City of Leavenworth park will feature an Old World Bavarian design that will welcome both residents and visitors. The open-air structure will have a refrigerated concrete floor that will provide an ice sheet from November to March. From April to September, the Pavilion will offer a covered staging area for theater, concerts, auto shows, art exhibitions, markets, and Leavenworth’s renowned Oktoberfest.
The concept of a local ice rink has been part of the Leavenworth Parks Plan for over 50 years. In 2011, the Leavenworth Ski Hill Foundation led a strong effort to engage partners, but fell short of successfully winning the hearts and minds of city leaders. A call for renewed energy has been heard, and efforts are underway to bring this important facility to our community.
The Leavenworth Pavilion & Ice Rink will create new local jobs, bring activities to our school district, and engage residents and visitors throughout the year. Other benefits include regional and state impacts by increasing lodging and sales tax dollars generated in Leavenworth. Another substantial benefit will be increased tourism during the “shoulder” seasons and during low-snow winters.
We ask for your support to help deliver the Leavenworth Pavilion & Ice Rink that will benefit residents and visitors of Chelan County and the Pacific Northwest.
